A steady decline in cheque volumes and a corresponding rise in payments by card and electronic funds transfer have prompted a shift from traditional customer service practices. Most importantly, the community expects to have the option to make payments electronically with us, and receive refunds and other payments paid directly into their bank accounts.

A 2014-15 review identified opportunities to standardise payment options across all revenue lines, collect customer bank account details to process outbound payments, promote direct debit and develop mobile applications for lodging claims and other associated documentation.
